Paying Attention to Senate Race in Missouri

Until I attended the "Taking America Back" conference in KC with Sarah Palin, I had never heard of the many candidates running for Kit Bond's Senate seat and I was embarrassed that Roy Blunt and Robin Carnahan were the only ones I knew of.

Well my eyes were opened, and I am very impressed with a candidate that might not be well known across the state, but needs to be researched! After my research I have decided to help Chuck Purgason's name be known. He is a true conservative and has proven it as a Representative and Senator in Missouri.

I contacted Jim DeMint's PAC - www.senateconservatives.com - and asked that they PLEASE research Purgason and paralell his voting record to Blunts to determine who the real conservative for Missouri might be. At this time they are only looking at Blunt as the candidate for Missouri.

reBlog from americansolutions.com: Why is Rep. Henry Waxman Afraid to Hold Hearings?

I found this fascinating quote today:

Congressman Henry Waxman was outraged when these companies declared that they were going to drop coverage because of the increase in company cost resulting from the enactment of ObamaCare (in some cases these cost increases for a single company reaches over $1 billion). Waxman accused these companies of fabricating this information to create public outrage against ObamaCare and used his chairmanship of the House Energy and Commerce Committee to request documents from these companies with formalized plans to hold hearings. But after receiving the documents from these companies he suddenly decided to not hold these hearings. americansolutions.com, Why is Rep. Henry Waxman Afraid to Hold Hearings?, May 2010

Winning America Back with Sarah Palin

This weekend I attended the "Winning America Back" conference with keynote speaker Sarah Palin. This event was presented by "Preserving American Liberty" and also featured Jeri and Fred Thompson, Kris Kobach, Chris Stigall, J.C. Watts and a video message from Liz Cheney.

Jeri and Fred Thompson opened the conference and well ... I am glad that Fred did not make it to be my President. He and Jeri both delivered their speeches reading directly from what looked like notebook paper and that it was the first time they had ever seen the words. Come on ... you both know how to address the public better than that. Fred did an excellent job at the question and answer part of the program and redeemed himself. Hey Fred ... throw away the notes and talk from your heart!!!!

Kris Kobach is a constitutional professor and is always a joy to listen too! If you live on the Kansas side of KC., Kris is running for Sec. of State and in my humble opinion you can't have a better candidate! You always learn something listening to Kris and if you ever get the chance I strongly suggest you do what you can to take advantage of that opportunity!! Still mad that I could not go to his Constitution Classes he gave a few months ago.

Chris Stigall is always fun and made the crowd laugh, put on their thinking caps and get excited. Gotta love Chris and his love of country and Kansas City! Thank you Chris you were great!!

J.C. Watts for those of you that are not familiar is a past representative from Oklahoma (or better known as quarter back for Oklahoma University in his day.) This man can energize me like no other. The only problem is every time I hear him speak, I tend to get upset with him that he is no longer in politics. But he went home to raise his 5 kids and I applaud him for that! But hey J.C. the kids are grown .... PLEASE get back in the political circles!!! J.C. Watts for President would be an easy one for me!!!

Sarah Palin ... I think we all know who she is, and she only gets better at talking the talk with each time I hear of see her!! She was a joy and very inspirational, love what she is doing for the conservative party ... however, unlike many that were there, I am not yet ready to make her my candidate in 2012. Sorry Sarah ... too many possibilities coming our way, and I am waiting to hear from them all :)

Ok.. so that's my thoughts on the conference ... would love to hear yours!!!

It's All About Money ...

I wrote in my "Today I wonder..." blog questioning "why do we have political parties?" and the problems I see with parties. What it boils down to is MONEY! The parties are great fundraisers and control our politicans with their power and money.

So as an American, how do I fight the parties strength on my nation? I have come to the conclusion you have to fight that power with money ...

There are 2 special elections in the next month that are running conservative republicans in a strongly democratic districts. These could be like the Scott Brown election in Massachusetts allowing conservatives to gain 2 more senate seats making it harder for the progressive politics of the current democratic senate.

The two special elections are:

Charles Djou running for Congress in Hawaii - http://www.djou.com
Tim Burns running for Congress in Pennsylvania - http://www.timburnsforcongress.com

This morning I made very small contributions to both campaigns, and I offer this information just in case you are like me and have come to the conclusion that we have to think outside of our back yards to really make a difference.

Just think if every Conservative American gave just $5.00 (cost of one Starbucks Coffee) how much money would be contributed and we might have as much say as the parties .... something to think about.
