It's All About Money ...

I wrote in my "Today I wonder..." blog questioning "why do we have political parties?" and the problems I see with parties. What it boils down to is MONEY! The parties are great fundraisers and control our politicans with their power and money.

So as an American, how do I fight the parties strength on my nation? I have come to the conclusion you have to fight that power with money ...

There are 2 special elections in the next month that are running conservative republicans in a strongly democratic districts. These could be like the Scott Brown election in Massachusetts allowing conservatives to gain 2 more senate seats making it harder for the progressive politics of the current democratic senate.

The two special elections are:

Charles Djou running for Congress in Hawaii - http://www.djou.com
Tim Burns running for Congress in Pennsylvania - http://www.timburnsforcongress.com

This morning I made very small contributions to both campaigns, and I offer this information just in case you are like me and have come to the conclusion that we have to think outside of our back yards to really make a difference.

Just think if every Conservative American gave just $5.00 (cost of one Starbucks Coffee) how much money would be contributed and we might have as much say as the parties .... something to think about.

Proud to be an American!

Yesterday I read an article in World Net Daily titled "Meet stunning Americans looking to dethrone Pelosi." written by Chelsea Schilling. This is a story of ordinary people that love their country that previously never thought of being involved in politics, but love their country and are disappointed in the present government. They have taken the ultimate steps of putting themselves out there to fight for what they believe. This is a heart warming article and worth the read.

A Real Solution for Repeal the Bill

I got my first comment today, how they found me I will never know ... but I am glad they did.

It was from an organization called "Constitutional Repeal." I recommend you visit their website: www.constitutionalrepeal.com

There idea constitutes an agressive way of repealing the Health Care Bill, a Constitutional Convention called by the states. I won't try to rewrite their website here, but it is very informational.

I am impressed by them being willing to go beyond petitions (that are not listened to anyway) to a way that by the constitution is step by step the process of doing away with a bill that is not wanted by the people or states.

Before I lend by support to their cause I will have to research their idea versus the states positions of going before the supreme court to contest the constitutionality of the bill. Do the states do both? Do the states go forward, but we go forward in contacting our state legislators and try to convince them to call for a constitutional convention? Not sure I am smart enough for this one, but will keep reading and learning.

Re-Energized!

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Washington D.C. and the April 15th Tax Day Tea Party organized by Freedom Works. Thank you to all the volunteers and organizers for such a wonderful event. Prior to the rally, we attended a learning lesson directed by Freedom Works, and learned how we can be more active in taking our country back. Thus I have decided to start to blogging once again! (hopefully I will figure out a way for people to find me) I will be re-posting others blog articles I want to save for referencing and providing links that we find useful in our learning experiences as well as events.
